Gaping Goose grass verge
project got underway 25th January 2009.
The Garforth In Bloom team had earlier done a site
visit and it was decided not to be too ambitious, so we are just
creating a small flower bed to start with and see how that looks.
On this cold and damp Sunday morning we started by marking out the
bed and removing the turf. The bed had it's first dig over and the
turf was used to patch up some bare areas of verge on the side of
Selby Road where recent pipe excavation work has been ongoing.
The bed will be dug over again in two weeks in preparation for planting.
